Marty Wagner provides practical business solutions emphasizing cost containment and legal risk management to complex benefits problems. For example, Marty has led teams of lawyers that: assessed the risks of reducing retiree health benefits for a client with more than 100 retiree health plans and hundreds of millions of dollars in long-term liabilities; created a disciplined, systematic, and automated health contract review process for a client with more than 300 benefit designs and more than 65 health care vendors; designed and implemented serial voluntary and involuntary severance programs for approximately 9,000 employees with eight different benefit packages. Marty's process orientation helps converts lessons learned into integrated process improvements, often on a national scale.

She has been litigating benefit claims ranging from costly experimental health benefits to alleged fiduciary breaches for almost thirty years in federal courts from California to Delaware, and from Minnesota to Texas. Marty's extensive litigation experience provides her with a perspective unlike most benefit practitioners.

Marty is a Past President of the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel and an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University Law Center. She is listed in the Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers for the District of Columbia.
