Julie H. Burbank

Julie Burbank was formerly Senior Counsel in Chevron Corporation’s Employment & Corporate Services Law Group where she was responsible for ERISA compliance with respect to Chevron’s numerous health and welfare benefit programs. Prior to rejoining Chevron in mid-2013, Julie was a Director at a San Francisco employee benefits law firm. She represented very large clients with respect to their health and welfare plans, cafeteria plans, defined contribution plans, defined benefit plans and hybrid plans. She also assisted clients with due diligence in mergers and acquisitions and post-deal integration of benefits. In addition, she represented clients in Department of Labor investigations and Internal Revenue Service audits.

Julie is a frequent speaker and has made numerous presentations on a variety of employee benefit plan topics for ALI-ABA, the American Bar Association, the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries, the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, the International Society of Certified Employee Benefits Specialists, the Silicon Valley Employers Forum and the Western Pension and Benefits Council.

While at Chevron, Julie served on the Board of Directors of the ERISA Industry Committee, the only national association that advocates exclusively for large employers on health, retirement, and compensation public policies at the federal, state, and local levels.
