Jeffrey N. Clayton

Jeff has been a member of Callister Nebeker & McCullough since September of 1983. He served the Administrator, Pension and Welfare Benefit Programs, U.S. Department of Labor which position is now the Assistant Secretary of Labor for the Employee Benefits Security Administration. He is a member and former co-chair of the Editorial Advisory Board of the BNA Pension and Benefits Reporter and member of the Charter Class the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel. Mr. Clayton also served as Chairman of the ERISA Advisory Council for the Department of Labor; Co-Chair, Administrative and Legislative Subcommittee of the Employee Benefits Committee, ABA Section of Labor and Employment Law; Chairman, of the White House Interagency Task Force on Pension Benefit Guarantee Corporation; Member, Pension Working Group of the White House Cabinet Council on Economic Affairs; and many other past and present memberships in various organizations dealing with pension and welfare benefit plans, ERISA, COBRA, and HIPAA. He has served as an expert witness in many Federal and State court actions. He has published a number of articles and was a co-author of the Trustees Handbook, 4th Edition (1990) and 5th Edition (1998), International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, and was Chapter Editor for Employee Benefits Law.
