From 1995 to 2012, Mr. Tawshunsky was Special Counsel and Deputy Associate Chief Counsel for Employee Benefits at IRS Chief Counsel. As Deputy Associate Chief Counsel, he supervised the attorneys in the National Office of IRS Chief Counsel who deal with all aspects of employee benefits law. From 2012 to 2015, Mr. Tawshunsky was a Special Counsel in the Office of Tax Policy at the U.S. Treasury Department. In 2015, he founded Tawshunsky Law Firm PLLC. Prior to joining IRS Chief Counsel, Mr. Tawshunsky worked for major law firms in Washington, DC and clerked for a federal judge.
