JCEB Government Invitational Conference
The ABA Joint Committee on Employee Benefits (JCEB) is comprised of the Sections of Business Law; Health Law; Labor and Employment Law; Real Property, Trust and Estate Law; Taxation; and Tort Trial and Insurance Practice. The ACEBC is a Liaison Member of the JCEB. The JCEB coordinates employee benefits activities including CLE programs and meetings with federal agency officials reported as a series of questions and answers. The JCEB's website is http://www.americanbar.org/jceb.
Each spring, the JCEB hosts a program in Baltimore on benefits policy issues. In addition to private sector attendees, the JCEB invites government representatives from Treasury, IRS, the Department of Labor, HHS and other relevant government agencies, as well as staffers from Capitol Hill. As a participating organization, the ACEBC® is entitled to send five representatives. In the past the ACEBC® representatives have included Board members as well as members at large who are selected. The ACEBC® is also responsible for moderating and coordinating one of the panels at the program. Each year the invitation to be selected as an attendee is sent out to ACEBC® members via the listserve once the ACEBC® panel has been determined—attendees are expected to take an active role with respect to the panel that the ACEBC® is responsible for.
